The latest generator in my generator project makes good pet names. The pet names are random generated form word arrays with cute and funny pet names combined with arrays with adjectives related to or associated with naming pets. But in the process of making good pet names I also add some less obvious words, trying to make some creative and unusual combination that might result in some more funny pet names.
What’s in a good pet name?
It’s hard to say precisely what makes a good pet name. It widely depends on things like:
- The personality of your pet
- What species you pet is
- Your personal preferences
- The cultural background
I try to make great variation in the names I create. That way there’s a good chance that you will find a pet name you think is good.
Not all pet names are good
Due to the random process and the general lack og human like intelligence in a computer programs, not all pet names are good. Some name combinations may seem stupid or inappropriate, and will be bad pet names. But that’s inevitably, when you are working with computers that doesn’t get the fine and subtle meanings in names and word combinations.
Furthermore I do take chances in the pursue of making good pet names. I tend not only to make the obvious names, but also try to spice up the pet names in order to surprise, and maybe make the cool and creative pet name, you wouldn’t have come up with yourself.
But it doesn’t really matter. It’s blazing fast to create a new name, if you don’t like the first one. And if things are going to fast all names are saved to a list of good pet name you can save for later use and scrutiny.
